Energy vampires come in all forms, read my first post about it here to learn more. The framework of an energy vamp is very varied. They mold perfectly and subsist in toxic relationships and vicious cycles of ruination among the people they interact with daily. Ultimately, it is up to you to pay attention to the signs they give off and begin to notice the shift in your energy when you’re around these types of people. When at the crux of life, take time to attain a centered and balanced connection with yourself. Letting go of attachments can help you realize that self discovery begins with counting on yourself for the right answers. Self realization forces you to begin to shed your pseudo-identity and start the decluttering process of eliminating toxic relationships and unnecessary negativity.
You begin to realize that a lot of people around you are there to keep you from seeing the real you. The truth of the matter is that if they are continually stuck in a stagnant state of being, it isn’t in their best interest for you to ascend and become a better person. There are many reasons why you evolve and often time may outgrow friends, relationships etc. as a result.
Below are some tips I try to incorporate into my daily life and use to help me discern people and situations. It’s all within context and balance. Being aware and conscious of the people around you does not mean to be distrustful and paranoid of others. On the contrary, its the opportunity for you to be open to others, to not only help you but themselves too. By not feeding into a friend’s negativity can perhaps help that person realize that the energy they’re vibrating with is not conducive to your relationship. One of you have to be the better of the half and address destructive tendencies.
Intuition is key. Often time we tend to ignore our “gut” feelings or the thoughts that crosses our mind around certain people or situations. Headaches and feeling drained can be signs you’re dealing with a person who is feeding off your energy. Cultivating self trust, love is crucial to keeping these type of people at bay. Often time our energy fields are depleted or corrupted and energy vamps can feel the vulnerability from a mile away.

When you deviate from your inner core you end up battling conflicting thoughts and doubt which are usually rooted from constant reliance on the approval or opinions of others. Believing in yourself is the first step to developing intuition as it will help you distinguish from those who are truly there to help you and those that are just around to see what’s not so good with you.
Energy cleansing can be done in many ways. Cleansing your thoughts of doubt, fear and anxiety is important to keeping a state of tranquility. Cleansing can also be in the form of cleaning house per se of things, people and relationships that no longer serve you. I’ve been getting the hang of meditation for these past couple of years and although it’s not something I do daily or have regimented, I’m always aware to make sure I make time to be alone with my thoughts frequently. This allows me at least twice a week, to not only consider valuable advice people or the universe may give me, it also allows me to filter out the noise and make effective decisions for myself. When you feel yourself going at a fast pace or too many opinions running rampant it’s best to meditate on what it is you’re going through.
Take a moment, turn off your phone and have a moment, 5 minutes, time it if you have to, but be conscious of who you are and what your voice is trying to tell you.
Some people like to meditate on objects but I find that I prefer to meditate on my breathing. I prefer this method because I’m able to notice tense, anxious and nervous energy throughout my body. I tend to have a lot of anxious energy in my shoulders so when I meditate on my breath, I feel how all those points begin to release. Sitting up and breathing out, I feel bones crack and muscles relax. My mind drifts of course but I refocus and I feel that ease over my body. So I chase that feeling when meditating and leave the mundane in the fog. Its a sweet escape that only requires a few quiet moments.
Disengage and Visualize
Don’t feed into negativity. It’s what feeds the never ending cycle of self destruction. Energy vamps do not consider you or themselves for that matter. Vampires are constantly on the edge looking for a reaction from you from a negative stand point. As the saying goes “killing them with kindness” can drive people to misery. Ignoring and simply releasing people from your life without judgement is the key as it is their main purpose, to feed off your reactions.
Visualize where you want to be and see yourself in your mind’s eye. See yourself with the people who share your same goals and who have their own thing going on which helps build upon your endeavors.
