I went to the beauty salon super early today (pic to the right) trying to beat the heat and of course crowd. This is my first visit to the salon since my move and I was a bit nervous but felt comfortable with the lady who did my hair today so that was a plus. It’s always nerve wracking to have someone new deal with my hair….
The picture to the left was taken exactly a year ago right before a wedding, and one year later (right) I have to say my hair has grown quite a bit and is just as healthy. Earlier this summer I was dealing with major shedding so I started to massage my scalp with either grape seed oil or avocado oil mixed with lavender oil every week until I noticed my hair shed less with each passing week.
Before I got to the salon I did a quick scalp massage with grape seed oil, then I shampooed with my Aubrey organics Rosa mosqueta shampoo. I then deep conditioned with a mix of coconut milk, honey and Castor oil. Left that in for about and hour then rinsed. I then followed up with Aubrey Organics honey suckle rose conditioner and left it in my hair, put my hair in a bun and rinsed it out at the salon. I brought my little rosewater aloe spritzer and asked her to use it as a leave in and off to the dungeon (hair dryer) I went.
I then styled my hair with Amal Oil Organic Argan Oil I reviewed a while ago. I love argan oil, it provides my hair with super shine and fights frizz too.
I’ve been keeping my regimen very simple, lately I’ve been protective styling and co washing, which my hair has been liking. Deep conditioning has been kind of routine so I want to start experimenting with new stuff not sure with what yet but I’ll think of something.
