A while back here I introduced Dragon’s Blood Incense to my incense collection. At my recent visit to my favorite spiritual store Stick, Stone and Bone in NYC, I picked up a pack of Dragon’s blood Incense cones to give it a try. Since I don’t believe I’ve tried burning incense cones before, other than resins, I was curious.
I personally prefer to burn resins when burning incense. I feel like I get a much more raw scent and quality when burning resins. These Dragon Blood cones had a very nice scent to them and burned in about 15 mins. As opposed to the dragon blood resins I normally burn. The smoke from these cones were rather constant compared to resins, which produce a lot more smoke. So if your just looking to clear the air or ambiance with out too much smoke, cones can be ideal for you. I typically never thought of dragon’s blood to be an incense you burn for the scent, but these cones were rather pleasant.
I guess it depends on what you get.
If you’re looking to smudge an area or an object then resin in the way to go, it provides enough smoke to cover large areas. Cones provide you with a much more controlled burn and work great for smaller areas, ideal to set the mood.
Here are some uses for Dragon’s Blood Incense:
