I’ve been working on this room for sometime and have found some useful D.I.Y tips to work well for me without busting my budget. I purchased this Ikea Micke Desk to also use it as a vanity and wasn’t too sure where to place it. I was considering on a few spots and finally decided to place it in front of my windows. The lighting is ideal for makeup and fits perfectly with the 9 Alex drawers right next to it, but my radiator was a complete eye sore!
However, with just a few simple tools and a couple of dollars I completely changed the look of this desk.
What You Will Need
White Duck Tape
3 White Project Boards
Scissors or (X-Acto knife)
1. Cut your boards to size. I used scissors which gave it a rather jagged edge, which worked anyway. But if you want a cleaner cut try to get an X-Acto knife.
2. Once you’ve cut your boards to size, lay them on a flat surface and tape with the white Duck tape on the front and back side.
3. Place it on the backside of the desk and secure on the sides with Duck Tape for secure placement.
This was a very easy project and after a few months they’re still holding strong. Completely changed the look of the room and desk.
