I always dreamed of being able to concoct my own signature scent. In those dreams it always consisted of a touch of hazelnut and a hint of coconut. Unfortunately as I grew older I realized I was very much so allergic to most if not all perfumes and even scented creams, which I thought would be a better alternative.
Alas a girl must smell good and without overbearing her natural scent, which according to the Mr. reminds him of tuberoses…who knew!
A couple of simple things you will need:
- Empty spray bottle-This can be found at most travel sections
- Vodka-Helps preserve and keep bacteria from forming
- Hazelnut oil or extract– I used extracts to test these scents since my current budget can not yet shell out the dough for this organic essential oil. But can’t wait because it’ll be a good investment, smells heavenly.
- Coconut extract
- Glycerin (optional)– Acts as an emulsifier to help bind all ingredients in addition to it’s humectant properties.
- Distilled water
Mix all ingredients together and shake vigorously. As the days progress this scent gets stronger and once I felt it dying I added a slight drop of cinnamon oil and it brought it back to life. Everyone around me mentions they feel like they’re at Starbucks with the sweet smelling hazelnut, coconut and enticing cinnamon.
