A wax representation of myself.
Self healing is a custom that has become a priority in my life. A practice of observance and continual balance between the physical ailments that afflict us and the spiritual idling we do when we succumb to procrastination & distractions.
When these two things are not cared for, our entire being begins to deteriorate, physically & spiritually.
We begin to unconsciously disconnect ourselves from reality (depression), fall into an abyss of distractions (denial) to avoid facing the real problem from within and eventually surrender to the negative mannerism we have programmed ourselves to find refuge in, especially when things get too tough to handle.
We compromise with so many things on a regular basis from common stress of the day to day to do’s, to real emotional traumas that sticks with us for the rest of our lives if left unresolved.
The solution starts within.
Self Healing Begins in the Heart
The heart is at the center of healing and true understanding of self.
Its more than just a pumping organ to nourish our blood & circulatory system, but rather an electrical conductor of emotions and vibrations communicating with our entire being & surroundings.
“Research in the past two decades has shown that the heart is an information processing center that can learn, remember, and act independently of the cranial brain and actually connect and send signals to key brain areas such as the amygdala, thalamus, and hypothalamus, which regulate our perceptions and emotions. It seems we have a second “brain” in our chest.”
The Heart is your antenna…
Researchers have found that since the heart is heavily influenced by emotions that it’s able to transmit those vibrations through every cell of your body. Happy thoughts or negative thoughts can program your entire being for either wellness or dis-ease manifestations.
“The rhythmic beating patterns of the heart change significantly as we experience different emotions. Negative emotions, such as anger or frustration, are associated with an erratic, disordered, incoherent pattern in the heart’s rhythms. In contrast, positive emotions, such as love or appreciation, are associated with a smooth, ordered, coherent pattern in the heart’s rhythmic activity.”
It truly comes down to the type of vibrations you carry in your heart (based on your thoughts and emotions) that determines your Energy field or Aura which activates the Law of Attraction.
The Ancients & The Heart Concept
It is common belief that the brain/mind is the most superior organ when in actuality the heart is far more influential in terms of our higher selves. In fact, history has displayed how much the ancients revered the heart over the brain.
The ancient Egyptians considered the heart to be the “seat” of where our thoughts and emotions reside.
During funerary practices all organs were removed except for the heart which would be left in the deceased’s body to weigh it against the scale of Maat during the weighing of the heart ceremony. A ceremony where the true actions of your being were accounted for.
Interestingly enough, the Egyptians preserved all other organs for mummification except for the brain. The brain would be extracted from the deceased and thrown away as it had no real use or significance.
The ancient Mayas also revered the human heart to be a very significant aspect of human beings where it would typically be used during sacrifice rituals for their gods.
Below is a heart Chakra healing ritual you can use by selecting a green candle to represent the heart chakra. By meditating to the flame, you’re able to program your subconscious mind by bringing it into an Alpha state brain frequency which is the state of mind your brain is able to open into the subconscious mind.
“Going to Alpha is also good for programming your mind. At the alpha level you can learn to overcome all kinds of problems, such as insomnia, tension and migraine headaches, bad habits, and much more. You can also program your mind to help you achieve your goals and make your dreams come true.” What is the Alpha level of mind?

When we deal with a break up many tend to say “I’m heart broken” or express passion with, “I love you with all my heart.” Whatever the emotional attachment, we feel our true answers resides in the heart.
Blocked Heart Chakra
A person with signs of an imbalanced heart chakra will display behaviors of selfishness, lack of empathy & care for oneself and others. Anger tends to consume a person with a blocked heart chakra as they are not open to reason. dialogue or understanding. They typically find themselves in codependent relationships where they lack growth and individuality.
Materialism is a way to mask the real problem and so a person with a blocked heart chakra may consume in foods, drugs or material things in excess to over compensate for what they’re truly needing.
Open Heart Chakra
An open heart accepts love of all kind. It is a person who has forgiven themselves & those that may have caused emotional turmoils. An open heart chakra surrenders itself to fearlessness. Fear weakens the heart and by being open to change and the things that cause fear can help you overcome fear and grow by taking calculated risks & defeating doubt and blockages.
Acceptance of change & experiencing unconditional self love by way of forgiveness and nurturing will keep a healthy heart chakra to not only give to self but also give abundant love to others.
