Herb to Know|Eyebright

April 26, 2014 by hellnotesforbeauty |

Recently I’ve been noticing some changes in my vision.  I’m squinting a bit more, slightly blurry vision, and feel like my eyes are tired most of the time.  My job requires me to be in front of a computer screen often and although I’m able to schedule time away from the computer screen at work, I don’t find myself giving my eyes as much of a break I’m sure it needs.  Not to mention that most of my downtime is of course in front of a computer or phone screen.

Stress, lack of rest and not so healthy eating habits can definitely lead to dry, itchy tired eyes especially after a long day of focusing your eyes. Lately I’ve been taking steps to eliminate a lot of the sugar I consume on a daily basis and focusing on incorporating more whole foods into my daily diet.

In that pursuit I made my way to my local natural health store and picked up an Eyebright herbal supplement.  I hope to have a review on this mid summer as I have not been using it too long to give my opinion just yet.  But so far my research has led me to some interesting information on this herb.

What is Eyebright? Annual|Masculine|Air|Sun|Leo

  • Anti inflammatory
  • Eyestrain
  • Under eye circles and Puffiness
  • Cataracts
  • Cleanses Liver
  • Reduces acne irritation when used as a facial
  • Eczema
  • Strengthens and clears the mind
  • Sinus infections
  • Hay Fever
  • Sore Throat

Considering all the potential benefits, I’ll give these a try and keep you posted.
