Sunday Spa Routines is one of my all time favorite personal rituals {here & here}. Be it a facial or foot soak, I like to pamper myself at home especially on those low key Sundays like today. Recently I started to pay attention to an area of my body that quite honestly have not seen or read many cater a routine to. And what prompted me about this particular area was when I was at the lake this summer I met a woman, in her late 20’s like me, with a very neglected decolletage.
Neglected in the sense that her skin looked like leather, so dry and she had pimples and very strange blotches. Not sure if it was due to the sun, the humidity that day or even diet, but it made me realize that maintenance is essential for all parts of the body and have incorporated the Décolletage into my routine.
Here are some tips you can use to keep your decollete (say it in your sexy french accent lol) supple and sexy…your cleavage will thank you…
Wrinkles are the first signs of aging for any part of the body so make sure to avoid harsh soaps and try to keep moisturized as often as possible. I like Vitamin E very lightly and use a locally made goat milk soap. Dry skin contributes to wrinkles and completely changes the texture of your skin which can be very apparent particularly in that noticeable area of the body.
Sunscreen I don’t do much of the chemical sunscreens. I opt for more natural alternatives like jojoba oil, coconut oil or Shea butter as sunscreens although depending on your skin type, can be a bit too much especially during the summer. Doesn’t matter what you choose, the point is to protect your skin especially that very sensitive area that many tend to overlook.
Diet and Water I can’t stress it enough how important water is for everything. It helps my hair, nails, skin and overall health. Water is essential to keeping the skin hydrated and pretty much the only liquid that helps rid the body of toxins.
What I did today was a bentonite clay mask mixed with rose water. Left it on for 15 mins, went to shower and my Decolletage is one step closer!
