Mahalo Pele Volcanic Ash Mask Review

December 8, 2015 by hellnotesforbeauty |

Face masks are a weekly must for me so I’m always on the hunt for the next best thing! I was excited when I received this sample of Mahalo’s Pele Volcanic ash face mask since reading great reviews about it throughout the organic beauty community.  Not only does it contain a number of ingredients that really gets into the skin, it actually left my skin glowing!

Pele Mask Benefits

Calms inflammations

Detoxifies and tightens pores

Combats and heals blemishes

Fades dullness and signs of aging for a revitalized, youthful appearance

Boosts circulation and cell renewal for instant, healthy glow

Ingredients

“Named after the Hawaiian Volcano Goddess Pele, the mask is supercharged by “botox-plant” Hibiscus, anti-inflammatory Turmeric, collagen-boosting vitamin C, anti-aging Neem leaf, oxygenating Cayenne, sebum-balancing Witch Hazel, wrinkle-fading Guava, acne-fighting Holy Basil, toxin-magnet Volcanic Ash Clay and bacteria-absorbing Activated Bamboo Charcoal.”

So how could I have not been excited with such amazing ingredients?  I added rosewater to my mask and tell my why I felt like a tropical goddess? This mask has a very soft and subtle floral scent which made me feel as if I were in the lush tropics of Hawaii!

The mask is a bit watery compared to most clay masks I’m used to, but did not expect it to thicken too much as it is ash after all, but once I added the honey, I got the thickness I was looking for.  The gentle exfoliation of this mask is just what my sensitive skin needed.  It’s not too abrasive and left my skin super soft with very minimal redness afterwards.

It actually felt like my skin was much lighter and able to breathe thanks to this mask’s ability to draw out all impurities.

Once I cleansed my face of the mask, I followed up with Rosewater as my toner and my NOW brand Vitamin C & Sea Buckthorn Moisturizer.  I use the Jojoba oil very lightly over my face and as an under eye moisturizer.  Although it is recommended that those with sensitive skin don’t use this mask, I did not have any issues with irritation. This mask costs about $45 dollars and can be purchased with a very nice plate and face brush.  Definitely worth the price as a special treat to yourself for the fraction of the price of a spa visit.
