The weekend before last I went to the salon and considering all the heat, tugging and pulling my hair went through, I gave my hair a little extra pampering this past Sunday. I first started off with a scalp massage consisting of my usual avocado oil and lavender essential oil. I have to say since giving myself scalp massages weekly, my hair has stopped shedding and is back to normal. So I’ll be doing scalp massages bi weekly instead.
Mayo, Molasses & Castor Oil |
After the scalp massage I shampooed my hair with Aubrey Organics Rosa Mosqueta shampoo, then I whipped up the above Strengthening treatment. The pictures above included mayonnaise and black strap molasses with a bit of Castor oil. Left it in for an hour…….
and this was my hair… it was so soft and shiny before I even followed up with the moisturizing conditioner below………
Which consisted of baby banana food, honey, little bit of argan oil and avocado oil. I left this concoction in for 1 hour in which 15 minutes of that hour was under the dryer. I then rinsed and followed up with aubrey organics honey suckle rose conditioner. I used my beloved Aloe vera and rosewater as my leave in. I then with my hair slightly damp braided my hair into a bun and went to bed……
The next day my hair was very soft and shiny but a bit dry towrds the front. I’ll continue to do protective style mostly because I don’t have time to do anything else with my hair.
While in protective styles I mostly do slick back buns. My edges have not been cooperating lately so I have been experimenting with aloe Vera gel which seems to work. So far my hair is loving being cone free. However I have a few new products I’m going to try both natural and commercial as far as styling products are concerned. As I sit here I have my hair in twists hoping to achieve a nice twist out tomorrow morning, we shall see what I end up with.
