It is often said that you create your reality by your thoughts. Furthermore, our minds are so powerful that we can attract many good things into our lives as well as the bad, just by the quality of our thought patterns.
The human brain is very complex and most of what we know of the brain today is very minimal compared to its vast potential of further discovery.
We won’t get too technical into the inner workings of the brain, but rather get into some of the basics components of the brain such as the conscious and subconscious mind and its relation to positive affirmations.
Brain works
Consciousness: Your consciousness is your everyday thoughts and human functions such as brushing your teeth, driving or commanding your limbs to make movements. Basically the conscious mind is the part of your mind that is in charge of logic and reasoning. Freud and psychologist and mental analyst of the like also refer to the consciousness as the “ego”, basically how we see ourselves and present ourselves to the world.
Subconscious: Your subconscious mind is the part of your mind that is in charge of all your involuntary/instinctive functions such as your breathing, blinking and dream state. In addition to bodily functions your emotions are also involuntarily influenced by your subconscious mind. This is why you may feel a certain way sometimes without really knowing the root of that emotion.
The subconscious mind is where all your memories, thoughts, beliefs, traumas, fears and at the root of all your behaviors. In turn, your behavior mimics what your subconscious mind archives without judgement, bias or differentiation.
For example: As a child you were chased by a fierce barking dog. Now as an adult, you have fears of dogs and are anxious and scared when you see one. You may not remember that experience being chased by that dog, but your subconscious mind does and therefore your consciousness kicks in to protect you.
How Affirmations Work
Affirmations, also known as Mantras, positive thinking, goals and intent although named differently they all have the same end game.
Affirmations (meaning a statement said with confidence about a perceived truth) have helped thousands of people make significant changes in their lives. But they don’t always work for everyone. Why can one person have great success using this tool while another see’s no results at all?
An affirmation can work as it has the ability to program your mind into believing the stated concept. This is because the mind doesn’t know the difference between what is real or fantasy. When you watch a movie and you start to laugh or cry your mind is empathizing with the characters on the screen even though it is only Hollywood magic. You feel for the character and feel the emotions tied to the plot at hand.
This is what affirmations need in order for it to manifest and have an effect. You have to feel your affirmation or rather have an emotion tied to it.
There are both positive and negative types of affirmations. I’m sure many of us can remember as a child being told by a teacher, parent or coach that we didn’t have the ability to do something, or we were fat, clumsy, etc. These unwholesome statements can stay with us in the conscious or unconscious mind, which we then reinforce throughout our lives.
These conscious & subconscious affirmations whether good or bad will shape you so long as you believe it. Below I will share with you several affirmations for all life situations.

Affirmations are done on a conscious level and are filtered by the subconscious mind because they usually don’t match your current beliefs or emotion you have attached to it. So you use “conscious” methods such as affirmations and sayings, (coupled with emotion) which speaks to the subconscious mind and in turn influences your behavior according to the affirmation you’re repeating and believe in.
Banishing Fear

- I have all that I need. The universe works to provide me with what I need.
Comfort & security

- I can achieve all that I need. The universe conspires with me for rmanifestation.
Easing Anxiety
- I know what I’m doing. I have faith in my decisions.
- I’m protected. My guides are with me.
- Fuck it, I can’t control it all. What will be, will be.

- I am Beautiful, I am Bountiful, I am fruitful.
