I’ve come across many types of spiritual tools and plants but never found a plant that has so much personality like the Rose of Jericho. To own a Rose of Jericho is not simply to own it, but rather adopt it as a member of your home.
The energy and magical powers of the Rose of Jericho promotes harmony, peace and abundance in the home. It is a house plant to help attract and maintain good energy and vibes in your home as well as attract luck and repel negativity from manifesting. It is a wonderful plant for new beginnings and shedding of old habits.
The rose of Jericho has many legends and one has it that this plant would tumble at the feet of Jesus during his long journeys through the hot and dry desert. The plant would collect each day’s dew and offer it to Jesus. In return for her generosity, he provided her with the blessing of everlasting life as she is known as the forever alive plant (siempre viva) or resurrection plant. There are actually two types and I have the type known as (Selaginella Lepidophylla) its scientific name.
How to use your Rose of Jericho
I like to keep my plant right at my entryway to help enhance the energy of positivity and creativity. I typically keep it on a small table or behind the front door. This plant however, can be kept anywhere around the home preferably in corners.
When you first receive your plant you want to introduce her to your home and prepare her for a warm welcome. You want to acknowledge her presence and begin to program your plant by meditating with her for a couple of minutes.
I light a white candle the first day to illuminate and activate her powers during meditation. After a couple of hours you will see this dried out plant come to life. After a few water change the plant completely turns into this beautiful green and lush plant. I also clear my entryway with the water during water changes, to cleanse and purify my entry way.
Instructions
- Fill a bowl with water and place plant root sided in bowl, do not submerge.
- For 5-7 days change the water until clean of dirt.
- Place on spiritual altar for meditation or any spell work.
- Place at door to attract abundance and repel negative energy from entering your home.
- Write a wish on a piece of paper, place inside plant and let it close by dehydrating plant. Offer to the forest.
