The Spiritual — USES of charged waters & Colognes

There are many uses for charged waters particularly for spiritual practices such as meditation at your personal altar, to use as a daily aura cleanse, space clearing and seances during communication with spirits.  They’re not all water based per se, as some are cologne and alcohol based like those I will be showing here. You can also make your own charged water with crystals, herbs and essential oils as they’re very versatile to use to shift the energy in any space, as a beauty mist and for goddess rituals.

These three here I call the triple threat because when combined it can be quite potent. I like to use it as a floor wash for my house to purify and cleanse as well as let it sit in a bowl with water to absorb any low or negative energy in any space. It’s also my go to when setting intentions for the day, simply splash a little over me before heading out or starting a ritual.

As a kid, I grew up around a lot of charged waters as my mother and grandmother always had some around and it would be the last thing they sprinkle around the house after our weekly Saturday house cleaning marathons.

• Bay Rum: Made from the Jamaican Bay Berry and not Bay Leaves as some tend to confuse it with, Bay Rum has a soft and calming vibe. The scent has a very good effect on me and shifts the energy in any space almost immediately. Bay Rum is my favorite to reach for after a long day or when my mind is out of focus or too scattered. Uses: Sun Energy, purification, visions, divination, clearing, enhances powers, money drawing, clears the mind, promotes courage and spiritual awareness.

• Lotion Pompeia: When smelling this one I get a sense of pure femininity yet a hint of masculinity as well.  I get a very old vibe from this cologne and feel like I’m taken back in time when I use it.  Has a very mature and grounding aroma which is why I use it very sparingly. I tend to get too deep into my thoughts when I use this cologne and its a bit strong for my sinuses.  But its the best when I contact my personal spirit guides at my dedicated altar.  The concentration and “zoned” in feel I get is very beneficial for me to filter any noise from messages I may receive during my meditation sessions.  Uses: Sweet scent. alluring to the goddess. spirit communication, purification, calming, peace, promotes tranquility, refreshes aura.

• Florida Water: The most popular of the three in hood botanicas as well as common grocery stores.  My mom would use agua Florida when I would have nightmares as a kid.  I remember one time I had a very bad episode and waking up to my mother tapping some behind my neck and back.  Sh’d tell me “para espantar” or to chase away whatever was causing my nightmares. Another one that has a strong and grounding scent to me but a little more tolerable for everyday use.  I find Florida water refreshes my space as well as clarify.  When I use Florida Water I feel the energy a lot cleaner and light.  Uses: Grounding, purifying, cleansing. healing, consecrate. refresh, balance, enhances energy when added to spells.

Charged Water Uses

1. In a bowl, add water, and a cube of camphor to make your own camphor water.  I typically crumble the camphor cube and add to my floor washes or place it in a cup like above and let it sit so it can absorb any odors, or negative energy.  Camphor is very clarifying and purifying as well.

2. Use as a daily aura splash.  I use all sorts of waters before I head out or after a long day to readjust my mood.  Its also very beneficial before starting any magical work as it helps you connect with your subconscious mind as well as set the tone for your intention.

3. Use as a floor wash or general cleanser.  I love to mop my house on Sundays with charged floor washes because like our personal Aura, our homes have their aura as well.  Just add some charged water to your mop or water bucket.  The combinations and choices are endless.

4. Charge you water with the elements like the moon or any herb or oil of choice.  Leave outside during the day to capture the sun’s rays and enhance its energy or at night to catch some shooting stars or the moon light.

5. Visit your local church and collect some holy water. I visit my local church every now and then an get a little bit of holy water in my little bottle and visit the angels and saints. You can also visit nature like a river or the sea and collect your charged straight from the source.
